Inauguration: Beginning this New Era

Alright, let’s get this started!

I began the day with CNN.com at about 7am. After watching it, and intermittently posting on the linked Facebook application as I got ready, I took a photo on the way out to the FSU watch party at Club Downunder.

Seminole Students for Obama arrived first and congregated in the back of the club. Slowly, as the festivities picked up steam, Club Downunder filled up with students who had walked out of classes, or been let out by the more excellent professors.

People watched, rapt, as Yo-Yo Ma and his fellow musicians entertained everyone after Vice-President Biden took his oath of office. I have to say, I thought their composition was wonderful. Just the right note of solemnity and growing hope, to match this occasion.

Obama’s Oath of Office, complete with his trademark stammering, were of course the highlight of the show:
